Marian Alstad

Marian Alstad has been an artist for 40 years and an instructor for 30 years.

Marian has studied with national watercolor instructors, including: Zoltan Szabo, John Gaddis, Charles Sovek, Richard Yip, Judy Betts, Robert E. Wood, Christopher Schink and Barbara Nechis.

For the past 20 years Marian has led painting workshops in and outside of the United States, including: Baja, San Miguel, Puerto Vallarta, and Baha Peninsula (Mexico), England, Italy, Ireland and coastal towns of France (Europe), Nova Scotia (Canada), Norway (Scandinavia), Taos, Santa Fe, Las Cruses (New Mexico), Guatemala, Lake Atitlan, Antigua, and Costa Rica (Central America).

She teaches students of all skill levels and is a knowledgeable and positive instructor, supporting her students one-on-one and in group critiques.

She teaches over 20 students weekly at the Edina Art Center, as well as in her home studio. On class evaluations, students consistently give her class high praise.

Marian has made art her life’s passion. She has earned many awards in juried shows.
