Jake Posey grew up in Fargo, North Dakota.  After completing high school in 2011, he moved to Minneapolis to study the practice of representational painting at The Atelier.  Jake's lifelong passion for visual beauty coupled with five years of intense training and critical observation in an atelier system has given him the tools and vocabulary to break the visual world down into measurable properties and the ability to share that knowledge with those who desire to learn it.  His compositions attempt to unite the personal and universal, and promote empathy.
